Night Creature
I like
the quiet breathing
of the night,
the tree talk
the wind-swish
the star light.
Day is
glare-y
loud
scary.
Day bustles.
Night rustles.
I like
night.
~ Lilian Moore
I like night, too. (I also like sunshine and daytime!) Ms. Moore's first line of this poem is my favorite. Nighttime does often seem to be alive and breathing quietly. I like her action words and rhymes as well. How about you? Are you a night creature?
